BIOGRAPHY

A 21 year old rapper from Hobart, going by the name "Angus Yung" (I was named Angus as my dad loved AC/DC and felt fitting) I've been writing music for around 7 years and  written close to 100 songs but none of them met the standard I wanted until I released my first one last month titled "On My Fashion". I have been skating for just as long too, which has influenced my music and vice versa, the two art forms go hand in hand for me and I hope to eventually move to the mainland to progress in both of those fields. Hobart is a difficult city to get recognition in for the music I make, as it is not the preferred music taste of the majority, which provides a unique challenge for me trying to get my home city on board with my sound. But actions speak louder than words so I feel the need to prove myself that I am legit.



VISION & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

My main goal is to be original and to not copy other sounds, success is easier to find copying formulas but it doesn't work long term.  I would rather someone think my music sounded 'weird' rather than someone say "Oh you sound like so and so". I feel like a lot of Australian rappers either Try to hide the fact they're Australian in their music with their sound and image, or double down and make their whole sound like a vegemite sanga dipped in VB. I want to be somewhere in between, acknowledging my roots while looking towards the future.
In saying that I have got a song coming early 2022 with Houston rapper @XANMAN$HAWTY and I am aiming for 10k plays by the end of next year and an EP if things go as planned.
